Ajmer Congress Demands Cancellation of MLA Bhadel's 'Matrishakti Fest' Over Code of Conduct Breach

The Congress alleges that the event, organized by Ajmer South MLA Anita Bhadel, violates the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) that is now in force. This move highlights the heightened scrutiny political parties are placing on each other's activities during the election period.

Objections Raised Over Promotional Material

Leading the charge, Ajmer City District Congress Committee General Secretary Vivek Parashar, along with the legal cell, submitted a memorandum to the District Collector. They pointed out that promotional materials for the 'Matrishakti Monsoon Fest' prominently feature MLA Bhadel's photograph and the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) election symbol. This, they argue, constitutes a clear breach of election guidelines designed to ensure a level playing field.

State General Secretary Ashish Rajoria also joined Parashar in submitting the grievance. The Congress leaders firmly stated that such promotion is unacceptable once the election code is active.

Demands for Immediate Action

The memorandum wasn't just about lodging a complaint; it laid out specific demands. The Congress urged authorities to immediately stop the 'Matrishakti Monsoon Fest' from taking place. They also called for the removal of all banners and posters related to the event across the city.

Furthermore, the Congress committee demanded that government employees be strictly prohibited from participating in or assisting with the event. Their overarching goal, as stated in the memorandum, is to ensure fair and impartial elections in Ajmer.
