Congress Alleges Code Violation Ahead of Civic Polls

Ajmer is currently buzzing with political activity as the city gears up for the upcoming municipal corporation elections. In a significant development, the Ajmer City District Congress Committee has formally approached the District Election Officer, demanding the immediate cancellation of a proposed event, the 'Matrishakti Monsoon Fest', scheduled for August 23.

The Congress alleges that the event, organized by Ajmer South MLA Anita Bhadel, violates the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) that is now in force. This move highlights the heightened scrutiny political parties are placing on each other's activities during the election period.

Leading the charge, Ajmer City District Congress Committee General Secretary Vivek Parashar, along with the legal cell, submitted a memorandum to the District Collector. They pointed out that promotional materials for the 'Matrishakti Monsoon Fest' prominently feature MLA Bhadel's photograph and the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) election symbol. This, they argue, constitutes a clear breach of election guidelines designed to ensure a level playing field.

State General Secretary Ashish Rajoria also joined Parashar in submitting the grievance. The Congress leaders firmly stated that such promotion is unacceptable once the election code is active.
